WiFi and network installation in Luton

Coverage that reaches the whole building, not just the room the router is in. Designed by someone actually certified to do it.

CCNA certified, which in practice means the network gets designed rather than guessed at — channels chosen, hardware placed where it needs to be, and the whole thing secured before it is handed over.

  • CCNA certified
  • Whole-building coverage
  • Wired and wireless
  • Secured, not just connected
What we see

Why the WiFi is bad in that one room

It is almost never the broadband. Six causes cover nearly every job.

The router is where the phone socket is

Which is usually a hallway, a cupboard, or the far corner of the building — chosen by where a cable happened to enter, not by where people work. Moving it, or extending properly from it, fixes more problems than new hardware does.

The ISP box is doing a job it cannot do

A free router is built to a price. In a house with thick walls, or an office over two floors, it was never going to reach. That is not a fault, it is a limit.

Everything is fighting over the same channel

In a terrace or a business park, a dozen networks sit on top of each other. Picking the clear channel is free, takes minutes, and is invisible unless someone looks.

Powerline adapters and cheap extenders

They halve your speed and create a second network your phone clings to at one bar. Very common, and usually replaced with one properly placed access point.

The wired points nobody ran

A till, a printer, a desktop or a CCTV recorder is far better on a cable. One afternoon of cabling removes a permanent source of complaints.

It was never actually secured

Default admin passwords, WPS left on, guest access sharing the same network as the accounts machine. Free to fix and the reason a security review is part of the job.

How it works

What a network job involves

A look at the building first, because the answer depends on brick, plasterboard, distance and where people actually sit. This is why quoting WiFi over the phone does not work.

A written plan: what hardware, where it goes, what gets cabled, what it costs. If the honest answer is "move your router and change one setting", that is what you will be told, and it costs you an hour.

Installation, and then the part that gets skipped — testing coverage in every room rather than next to the access point, and locking the thing down. Admin passwords changed, firmware current, guest traffic separated from the machines that matter.

For businesses, this is normally where ongoing support starts making sense, because a network is only as good as the last time anyone looked at it.

Questions

The things people actually ask

Why is my WiFi slow upstairs when the speed test is fine?

Because a speed test next to the router measures the broadband, not the WiFi. The connection coming into the building is usually fine — what fails is the distance between the router and you. That is a coverage problem and it is solved with placement and hardware, not a faster package.

Do I need mesh, or an extender, or a new router?

Depends entirely on the building, which is why it needs looking at. Mesh suits some houses and is a waste of money in others. Extenders are usually the wrong answer. A single access point in the right place beats three in the wrong ones.

What does CCNA actually mean?

Cisco Certified Network Associate — a formal networking qualification rather than experience alone. In practical terms it means routing, subnetting, VLANs and wireless design are understood properly, so a network gets planned instead of assembled until it works.

Can you set up a separate network for customers?

Yes, and for any business handling card payments or client data you should have one. Guest WiFi kept properly separate from the machines that hold your records is straightforward to set up and one of the cheapest security improvements available.

The rest of what we do

One person does all of it, which is why nothing gets handed between departments. Start on the services page if you would rather see it all at once, or the web design page for sites and shops.
