For landscapers

Websites for landscapers that price the job before you drive there

A guided quote builder, photos straight off the customer's phone, round days by postcode, maintenance plans and seasonal reminders. Built for landscapers and garden maintenance businesses in Luton and the villages. There is a working one you can try.

See it first

A whole landscaping website, working, right now

I built one for a garden business that does not exist so you can click it rather than read about it. The quote builder, the round-day lookup, the plans and the reminders all work.

Try this

Build a quote

Five questions and a couple of photos. Notice that it asks about access, which is the thing that changes a price most and the question nobody asks until they turn up at the house.

Then this

Put a postcode in

It tells the customer which day their area is on and the next three visit dates. That is the "when are you next round here?" call you stop having to take.

And this

Set a seasonal reminder

Pick the hedge cut, the spring mulch or the autumn clearance and it shows the exact dates it would text. That is next year's work, booked by the website.

It is a demonstration, so the business, the prices and the reviews are made up and the phone numbers are the fictional ranges Ofcom reserves for exactly this. Nothing on it sends a message, takes a payment or uploads a photo: pictures you attach are read on your own device and stay there.

What it does

Six things a brochure site cannot do

Most landscaping websites are a gallery and a phone number. These are the parts that save you diesel and fill next season.

Quote builder

A brief worth reading, not "how much for a garden?"

Work, size, access, timescale and the budget band the customer picked themselves. It quotes no figures of its own, so nothing on the page can commit you to a price. You know whether a job is worth the drive before you get in the van.

Photos

Pictures with the enquiry, every time

Straight off the customer's phone and attached to the brief. Two photos from the back door tells you more than a ten minute phone call, and it turns a site visit into a price you can send that evening.

Rounds

Round days by postcode

Customers see which day covers their area and when the next visits are, so the round stays tight instead of criss-crossing town. New maintenance customers land on a day you are already working, not a day you have to make a trip for.

Plans

Maintenance plans people pay for monthly

Fortnightly, monthly or seasonal, set up once through your own Stripe account. Predictable money in winter, which is the hardest part of the trade. Card details never touch your site.

Reminders

Seasonal reminders that bring the work to you

The hedge cut in February before nesting season, the spring mulch, the autumn leaf clearance. Automatic, by text, with a link to book. This is the landscaping version of a service reminder, and it is what turns one job into a customer for ten years.

Found locally

A gallery that is actually yours, and gets found

Your phone photographs, captioned, in before-and-after pairs, with the technical side done properly so you turn up when somebody searches for a landscaper in your town. For a visual trade the gallery sells the job on its own.

Money

What it costs

Straight answers, and every quote confirmed in writing before any work starts.

A website on its own

Services, a proper gallery, areas covered and a contact form, built properly and fast on a phone. My published starting price for a small business site is £245 and you own it. All the prices are published here.

Right if you want to be findable and look professional, and you are happy to keep taking enquiries by phone.

Most of them

The website with the systems behind it

£950then £60 a year

Everything in the demo: the quote builder with photos, the round-day lookup, maintenance plans with the payment set up online, and the seasonal reminders.

The £950 is a one-off and you own the site. The £60 a year is the renewal invoice for the domain and hosting, and you can say no to it without the site stopping being yours.

Paying for it

What it costs

One price, paid once. The site is yours at the end of it.

Paid once

The build

£950one payment

A .co.uk domain registered in your name, included. The site is yours from the day it goes live, with no deposit, no instalments and nothing to sign up to. Hosting and SSL are covered for the first twelve months.

After the first year

£60a year, if you want it

One invoice a year, not a subscription. It renews the domain, the hosting and the SSL certificate. Say no to it and the site and the domain are still yours to take anywhere.

The honest bit. There is no monthly payment and no direct debit to set up. You buy the site once and own it, instead of paying the same amount every year forever and owning nothing at the end of it. The domain is in your name from day one, so if you ever want to leave you take everything with you.

Two things carry a running cost and I will not hide them. Hosting, your domain, the SSL certificate, updates and backups are covered by the care plan at £60 a year, or £270 a year for the full care plan, and both are optional. Text messages are metered and cost a few pence each, billed at what they cost me, so a landscaper reminding a couple of hundred customers twice a year spends pounds rather than hundreds. Email reminders cost nothing. Card payments run through your own Stripe account, so their fee is between you and Stripe and I never touch the money.

How it works

Four steps, and one of them is yours

A conversation

What you take on and what you turn down, how the round works, which days cover which areas, and the jobs you actually want more of. Half an hour, no charge.

A written quote

Fixed price, what is included, what it costs to run and when it will be done. Nothing starts until you have said yes to it.

Your photographs

The part only you can do, and the part that sells the work. Before-and-after pairs off your phone beat any stock photograph, and I will tell you honestly which ones are worth using.

Built, checked, live

You use it before anyone else does. I load your round days and your existing maintenance customers if you have them on a spreadsheet, and stay on the end of the phone afterwards.

Questions

The things landscapers ask me

I get my work from Facebook and word of mouth. Why do I need this?

You probably do not need a brochure site. What you might need is the quote builder and the reminders. The first one stops you driving to jobs that were never going to happen, and the second brings back customers you did one job for three years ago. Both work whether the enquiry came from Facebook or anywhere else.

Will it give customers a price without me seeing it?

No, and that is deliberate. The builder collects a brief and the customer picks their own budget band. It never produces a figure, so nothing on the site can commit you to a price you have not agreed. You send the number, after the visit or after the photos.

Am I allowed to text customers about seasonal jobs?

Yes, for customers you already work for. A reminder that the hedge is due is a service message to an existing customer, which is what the marketing rules allow, and every message carries a way to stop them. Anything that is really an offer is kept separate and off by default, so you stay the right side of it.

What about photos, is there a size limit?

Customers can attach several and the site shrinks them before they are sent, so a slow phone signal in a back garden is not a problem. They arrive with the brief rather than as a separate email you have to match up later.

I already have a website. Can you add this to it?

Sometimes. On a modern site the quote builder and the reminders can often be added without touching the rest. On an old template nobody can log into any more, a rebuild is usually cheaper than a repair. I will tell you honestly which one you have.

Do I own it?

Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours. If you ever want to move it elsewhere I hand over the files and help with the transfer. Your customer list, round days and reminder dates are yours too, and I will export them whenever you ask.

Try the demo, then ring me

Five minutes on your phone will tell you more than I can. If it looks useful I will build you your own, with your name, your round and your photographs on it. If it does not, no harm done.
