Demo site. Built by Regan IT to show a cleaning business what its own site could do. The price estimator, the recurring booking, the visit report and the skip-a-visit panel all work in this page so you can try them, but they run entirely in your browser: nothing is sent anywhere, no card details are ever asked for, and the business, the rate, the team and the reviews are sample content. The phone numbers are Ofcom's reserved fictional ranges.

A day, a cleaner, and then you can forget about it

Cleaning is a round, so your area has its own days. Pick one and it is yours every time, with the same person, and the payment goes out after each visit rather than you finding cash.

    What we do

And, more usefully, what we do not

Most complaints about cleaners come from a job somebody assumed was included. So here is both lists, and the second one is the honest half.

    Every visit, as standard

    • Kitchen: surfaces, hob, sink, outside of appliances, floor
    • Bathrooms: bath, shower, screens, loo, sinks, mirrors, floor
    • All rooms: dusted, hoovered, floors mopped, bins out
    • Skirtings, sills, switches and door handles
    • A tidy as we go, but not a sort out of your things
    • All products, cloths and machines brought with us

    Not included, and why

    • Outside windows. Above the ground floor it needs a window cleaner with the right kit and cover.
    • Anything up a ladder. Loft hatches, high light fittings, gutters. Insurance and common sense.
    • Clearing up after building work. Plaster dust wrecks a domestic hoover. That is a different job with different kit.
    • Pet mess or anything biohazard. Not what a domestic clean is insured or equipped for.
    • Moving heavy furniture. We clean around and under where we can reach safely.
    • Childcare or pet sitting. Said out loud because people do ask.

    Prices

£19 an hour, and here is what that buys

Cleaning is sold by the hour, so the only real question is how many hours your home takes. These are the typical figures, and the estimator at the top does your exact one.

    Visit reports

You know what was done before you get home

The oldest complaint about cleaners is not knowing whether anything happened. Your cleaner ticks the round sheet off on their phone as they go, and you get it as a text.

    • Arrived and left times, so you can see the hours you paid for
    • What got done, and anything that did not, with the reason
    • Notes back to you: the bathroom light has gone, you are nearly out of dishwasher tablets
    • Photos if something needs showing, which settles most disagreements before they start
    • Your receipt, the same day the card is charged
    Visit complete

    Done today

    • Kitchen, hob and floor
    • Both bathrooms, screens descaled
    • All rooms dusted and hoovered
    • Beds changed, washing put on
Note from Kelly: the bulb over the landing has gone and I could not reach it safely. Left the new one on the side.

Sample report. On the live site this is generated from what the cleaner ticked off on their phone.

    Manage your visits

    Going away? Skip it yourself

This is the single biggest drain on a cleaning business: customers texting to skip a week, and somebody having to remember, rearrange the round and not charge for it. Let the customer do it and everybody wins.

Skip up to two visits a year at no notice. Beyond that we just ask for a week, so your cleaner's hours do not disappear without warning.

      Where we clean

      Luton and the villages

The round runs by area, so each postcode has its own days. If you are just outside it, ring anyway: it depends whether anyone near you is already on the books.

      Join us

We are always short of good cleaners

Every cleaning business is. Which is why the website should be recruiting on your behalf while you are out on the round, rather than you putting a post on Facebook when somebody leaves.

      • £13.50 an hour to start, paid weekly, plus mileage between jobs
      • School hours if you want them, and the same houses every week
      • Products, kit and uniform provided, and the DBS check paid for
      • No zero hours nonsense: your round is your round

      Questions

      Before you book

Do I have to be in?

No, and most people are not. A key safe is the easiest: you get a text when your cleaner arrives and when they leave, so you know exactly what you paid for. If we hold a key it is signed for and kept coded rather than labelled with your address, and you get it back whenever you ask.

Is it the same person every time?

Yes, that is the whole point of a round. If your cleaner is off sick or on holiday we will tell you who is covering and what they have been told about your house, or you can skip the visit. What we will not do is send somebody different every fortnight and expect you to explain it again.

What if I am not happy with a clean?

Tell us within 48 hours and we come back and put it right, at no charge. The visit report helps here: you can see what was ticked off, and if something was missed it is obvious rather than a disagreement about memory.

Are you insured, and are cleaners checked?

Two million public liability, and every cleaner is DBS checked before they set foot in a customer's house. Ask for the certificates, we would rather you did.

Can I pause instead of cancelling?

Please do. You can skip a visit from the link in your confirmation, and pause the whole thing for as long as you need. There is no contract and no notice period, so cancelling gains you nothing over pausing and it means you have to start again when you want us back.

Do you bring your own products?

Everything, including the machines. If you would rather we used your own products, because of allergies, a pet or a surface that needs something specific, tick the box when you book and your cleaner will use what is under your sink.

This is a demo. Yours would be your own.

Fettle Home Cleaning does not exist. Everything above is a working demonstration of what a cleaning business's website can do, put together so you can try it rather than take our word for it. Your version carries your name, your rate, your round and your team.

      What you have just used

      • A price in ten seconds, not a home visit. Bedrooms, bathrooms, how often, extras. Cleaning is sold by the hour and the hours come from the house, so the maths is doable on a web page. This is the single biggest difference between a cleaning site that generates work and one that does not.
      • Frequency priced properly. Monthly costs more per visit than weekly for the same house, because there is four weeks of dust rather than one. Most cleaners know that and few websites show it.
      • Recurring booking on a round day. New customers land on a day you already work their area, with the same cleaner, so the round stays tight and you are not driving across town for one house.
      • Access details captured once. Key safe code, parking, pets, alarms, own products. The things cleaners currently sort out by text three times a week, on the job sheet where they belong.
      • Skip or move a visit, by the customer. The biggest admin drain in the trade is people texting to skip a week and somebody having to remember, rearrange and not charge. Hand it to them and it stops being your job.
      • Visit reports and card on file. The customer sees what was done and gets charged automatically the day after. No chasing, no cash on the worktop, and the oldest complaint about cleaners answered in a text message.
      • Recruiting while you are out on the round. Every cleaning business is short of cleaners. An always-on advert with a one minute form beats a Facebook post written in a panic when somebody leaves.

Local, independent, and you deal with the person who built it. No agency retainer and no page builder subscription.

      And what you would see

The other half of the job is the round sheet, on your phone and on the office screen.
